Nothing says summer like a glass of chilled rosé and a table full of seasonal bites. Whether you’re hosting a backyard dinner, packing a picnic, or just planning a weekend snack board, our Vineyard Grant James Rosé is here to make your summer meals even more delicious.
Here’s how to pair your rosé from appetizers to dessert—with full recipes included!
Appetizer: Watermelon Feta Skewers with Mint
Pairs with: VGJ Blush or Rosé
Why it works: Juicy watermelon highlights the fruit notes in the wine, while the feta's saltiness balances its acidity.
Ingredients:
1 small seedless watermelon, cut into cubes
1 block feta cheese, cut into cubes
Fresh mint leaves
Balsamic glaze (optional)
Toothpicks or small skewers
Instructions:
Thread a cube of watermelon, a cube of feta, and a mint leaf onto each skewer.
Repeat until you’ve made your desired number.
Drizzle with balsamic glaze just before serving if desired.
Serve chilled alongside a crisp glass of VGJ Rosé.
Dinner: Grilled Herb Chicken & Summer Vegetables
Pairs with: VGJ Rosé
Why it works: Herbal and citrus marinade brings out the floral notes in rosé while grilled veggies complement its body.
Ingredients:
2 boneless chicken breasts
1 zucchini, sliced
1 bell pepper, chopped
1 red onion, sliced
2 tbsp olive oil
Juice of 1 lemon
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp rosemary (or fresh sprigs)
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix olive oil, lemon juice, garlic powder, rosemary, salt, and pepper.
Coat chicken and vegetables in marinade and let sit for at least 30 minutes.
Grill chicken over medium heat for 6-7 minutes per side or until cooked through.
Grill vegetables until tender and slightly charred.
Plate and serve warm with a generous glass of VGJ Rosé.
Dessert: Strawberry Shortcake with Whipped Cream
Pairs with: VGJ Rosé
Why it works: Sweet strawberries echo rosé's red fruit notes, and the light cream keeps the pairing refreshing.
Ingredients:
1 lb strawberries, hulled and sliced
1/4 cup sugar
1 package shortcake biscuits (store-bought or homemade)
1 cup heavy whipping cream
1 tbsp powdered sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix strawberries with sugar and let sit for 15–20 minutes to macerate.
In a chilled bowl, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla until soft peaks form.
Slice shortcakes, spoon strawberries over the bottom half, and top with whipped cream.
Add the top layer of shortcake and garnish with more berries or mint leaves.
Serve with a chilled glass of VGJ Rosé for the perfect finish.
Whether you’re celebrating under the sun or toasting at sunset, these summer dishes are made for sharing and sipping. Stock up on your favorite VGJ rosés and make the season taste as good as it feels. 🍷☀️
